Sarah Ranney / Art Director

NJ - BKLN - SF

A New Jersey native, I'm passionate about Taylor Ham and early 2000’s pop punk. After working for seven years in IT, I can fix your computer, but please don’t make me. Instead, I'm focusing my problem-solving skills on the ad world - combining my love of design, photography, and technology to art direct some cool-ass shit.

I spend my non-work time doing standup, hosting a podcast, and writing sketch comedy.

I also take photos and watch an ungodly amount of television.

None of my pleasures are guilty.

Christmas in Brooklyn is the best Christmas. Thanks @samba_knuckle and @lost_weekend. It was a blast, as always 🖤
I’m not really the type to set resolutions. They’re usually lofty aims that are abandoned as quickly as I set them. 2017 marked the start of a new career for me. It was also a year where I branched out creatively. I moved from a focus on design and photography into podcasting and video content. And I’ve loved every second of it. So for once, I’m entering this year with some goals. I want to be less precious with my work before putting it out into the world. I want to take more creative risks. I want to travel more and write more and finally produce the web series I’ve been touting for years. I want to spend this year doing things that scare me, because they’re always the most worthwhile.
One year ago today, I was hot gluing herbs to magnets for a school project. Now people pay me to do shit like that. #livingthedream #artschooldropout
I'll take grey skies over blue any day 🖤
Missing Inverness and the open road today.
Rusty trombone
My photo adventures with this lovely lady mean more to me than I can say. We drove to Inverness this weekend and were met with the most beautiful fog. I'm in love with the photos from this trip. Many more to come.
My amazing friends threw me a birthday party last night. It was over by midnight, which is basically everything I could ever ask for.
I haven't posted many photos lately, so here are some birds I shot a while back with @jenna_zee on one of our photo adventures together.

Mid-morning inspo.
This is my art.
A cool little doodle I made for @masonesara this week.
It's been a while since I've posted any of my photos on here. So here's a shot from an adventure I had a while back with @jenna_zee.
There's a direct correlation between creative input and output. I've spent the last few months working my ass off. A lot of late nights and weekends. I wasn't taking much in and I felt creatively drained. This week, things lightened up and I had a minute to breathe. I went to the MoMa, listened to podcasts, watched movies, spent time on Pinterest without a project in mind. And then something happened. I spent an entire afternoon drawing. For the first time in months, I was inspired to just make. So the next time you're feeling drained, try to stop and take things in. Clear your head and see what comes out.
